DL 150 Roby Skinz

We don't often do much tuning due to the time involved and peoples lack of knowledge for the subsequent maintenance but Robbie knows the scores on the doors and convinced us that he was up for it. The scooter is a really early Indian GP150 from 1978 and until the RLC rebuild was in such good original condition that it was picking up prizes at Italian rallies! At RLC we have a bit of a inbred dislike for anything Indian at the best of times but this scooter was made using 95% Italian parts from the factory so everything fitted well and was a real pleasure to work on. Apart from the tuned engine, other additions were an RLC 18 litre tank and hydraulic front disc to aid stopping the scooter. This again was done 'old skool' with a threaded Innocenti backplate and inboard disc. A modified Vespa legshield toolbox was added at Robbies request and one of our RLC Ancillotti seats completes the happy picture. Just because the scooter is Indian doesn't mean we treated it any differently to the Italian bikes we usually work on and the attention to detail paid off when Robbie took delivery of the scooter and started using it for rallies here in Italy. His habit of picking up trophies continues to this day as the GP has scooped silverware everywhere it's been. What can't speak can't lie and his trophy cabinet is the testimony of this.
