TV 175 Tollazzi

Nick asked us to build something a little different and as ever, he had most of the ideas up his sleeve already worked out. The scooter came from Belgium and was a real mess with most of the bodywork 'disappearing' when it was powder blasted! New parts were sought out and the build began. The idea was to build a 'street style' scooter that would have represented what a young Mod / scooterist would have ridden in the late 60's. The engine was given a boost but only using period parts. The exhaust proved a the biggest 'mare and took endless hours to get absolutely perfect. For example, the ends of the two pipes had to sit 9.5cm from the outer edge of the rear light unit - with the 'sliced' ends of the tailpipes sitting at perfect 90&deg angles. Extremely intricate bracketry was manufactured that allowed for TOTAL suspension movement and had to clear the panels & footboards. Nick hadn't envisioned putting panels on the scooter but - fortunately - all these brackets were worked out to allow panels to be fitted without obstruction (Nick later added sidepanels so thank goodness we had considered that). The last 'version' of the scooter saw the choke lever being fitted to the bridge piece, the rear electrical junction box being moved to the kickstart side and Maserati Harry Moss airhorns being added just above the flywheel cowling. The scooter has SO many one - off touches that you could take a day to look it over and still notice other things to take in. This was something that Richie Lunt noticed when he featured the scooter in Scootering Magazine after it was finished. Nick always sells on his scooters once they're completed, when the 'chase' is over (of having it built and searching out rare accessories), to move onto his next project. The scooter is now owned by top collector Paul Brown, who knows a bike worth having when he see's one.
