LI 150 Series 1 Framebreather Marco

Marco's Series 1 LI150 Framebreather is his idea and interpretation of an early 60's Mod scooter. Marco works as our head mechanic in the workshops and two years of evenings & weekends work brought together the scooter you see here. The scooter was dry assembled initially and then the painstaking process of fitting all the accessories began. Once these were fitted to the scooter, the paint scheme was designed around these so it wouldn't look like they were just unsightly additions or 'afterthoughts'.Once photographed, all was stripped down and then shipped off to RLC's paintshop in Imola. The chrome parts were sent to S&T in Bristol and upon completion, the 'final' rebuild began. The idea behind the scooter was a crossover between an early 60's Mod machine and an American Cadillac, which is where the light blue & metallic black colour combination comes from. To cut a very long story short, once the scooter was nearing completion, Marco decided that the thin yellow pinstriping dividing the black and light blue was the wrong tone. Not one for doing by halves, he then promptly stripped it all down, got the pinstriping re-done....and then rebuilt the scooter! One of the rules we have in the shop is that if an accessory is fitted to a scooter built by RLC, then it must work. That goes for additional lights, horns, claxons...everything. The whole show here lights up and everything works exactly as it should. The scooter is 'finished' - or as finished as most Mod scooters ever are... Marco's quest for Mod perfection means that he is constantly on the lookout for ever elusive parts or accessories which means that the scooter is constantly being changed and improved.
