This is a perfect example of a Lambretta Paganelli conversion survived after 50 years and stored in a local barn. It is based on an Innocenti S2 125 and it perfectly follows the style of the mid ‘70s when you wanted to convert your Grandad scooter (S2s in general) in to a modern and sharp two wheels. Paganelli was the guy for you if you lived in Cesena area as he was considered the best mechanic for the boys if you wanted to go fast, it’s the same story like the Ancillotti family in Florence back to the early days. Paganelli used to cut the legshield down and struts too, used a S3/DL mudguard or cut and re-shape the original one to give the race look. He painted the scooter in 2 tones, mainly in white/purple or black/gold.
The conversion were 175cc or 200cc on small casing and sometimes 225cc. This example is fitted with a 62,4mm piston and Innocenti barrel slightly tuned, Dell’Orto MA23BS7 carburetor and long gearbox ratio. It also comes with the right modifications at the exhaust, welded back together and sprayed in matt black. The kickstart is modified to stay as close as possible to the casing, and a pair of footrest fitted togheter with genuine Giuliari slope-back seat makes the rest. Last but not least is the front rack bespokly modified and fitted like a bolted-on system on the legshield.
This kinda of genuine 70s cutdown are getting rarer and rarer today expecially in these conditions like a time wrap machine which hasn’t done many miles but it show in any details how these projects were made. Where saught after by the scooter collectors this Paganelli 175 is the real deal if you’d like to have a ride with an Old Skool Lammy.
