The new CP sandwich gasket is designed to solve two problems of Lambretta chaincase (‘side casing’) gaskets. Firstly it is intended to improve sealing where the original gasket surface is slightly less than perfect. Secondly it is intended that it should not tear like a paper gasket and is therefore more likely to be reusable if you remove your chaincase to make a repair or adjust the chain tension.
The 1mm thick gasket is correctly dimensioned to Innocenti drawings and constructed with an aluminium central layer coated with PFM rubber on both sides to provide a better seal against gearbox leaks. The gaskets are manufactured for us by one of Italy’s most famous gasket manufacturing companies.
These gaskets fit any S1 to GP Lambretta, but note that the rear of the gasket may need to be cut slightly if using the early type (full) bolt-in kickstart ramp. On later machines with either the pointed or GP/DL type ramp they fit without issue.
