Casa Performance Sledgehammer 333 partially-assembled engine

 The Sledgehammer 333 is Casa Performance’s low-revving, low-maintenance long-distance touring engine. The whole concept has been to maximise cooling and produce and engine that pulls cleanly from very low revs. It is very easy to ride, and good on fuel but still fast enough to be enormous fun.
This version is our most economic way to join the 333cc gang. This is perfect for competent home engine builders who are upgrading from one tuned Lambretta engine to a Slegehammer.
All the specialist work of fitting the crankshaft, assembling the vertically-split engine casings and building the cylinder assembly is done for you by the professionals at Rimini Lambretta Centre.
This engine kit includes a cylinder cowling and CNC aluminium flywheel cowling. It also comes with the crankcase reedvalve assembly and inlet manifold.

 To this you can then fit your choice of: 

  • Electronic Ignition (some flywheels require machining of the cooling fins to fit, Ducati Casatronic (X901 2.2kg standard CDI)is preferred and fits without modification)
  • Gearbox (4-speed Lambretta is fine, Cyclone Pro 5-speed is preferred)
  • Clutch (any high end 6-8-plate clutch should work, X35S SmoothMaster is preferred)
  • Front sprocket assembly (any works, Casa Performance is preferred)
  • Chain and chain tensioner (we prefer our X44 OTT tensioner)
  • Gearbox endplate, bearings and shims (we prefer our Casa Performance endplate)
  • Side casing and kickstart assembly (we prefer our CasaCover but any type fits)
  • Rear brake components, layshaft and rear hub.

 In order to get your Sledgehammer on the road you will additionally require: 

  • A fuel tank with a cut-away for crankcase reedvalve carb position (we can supply dedicated Oiltek aluminium tanks).
  • A carburettor (we can supply Dellorto PHBH30mm)
  • A dedicated exhaust (we can supply X52SH)

 On top of this, we provide a complete set-up guide for the required sprockets with various gearboxes, jetting instructions for a PHBH30mm carb and ignition timing settings for static and advance-retard ignitions. Basically everything you need to get your Sledgehammer running safely.

 Assemble it correctly; following the Complete Spanner’s Manual, run it in and you should be good to go anywhere!
