We are currently having a bit of a sort out and a tidy up in the RLC stores and putting loads of items on line. These range right across the board from accessories to used parts to scooters to general spares to NOS items to race parts to engines....etc. etc. There's many a bargain to be had right across the whole website but a good place to start is the Special Offers section of the site:
See what ticks your boxes!
EXTREME PRODUCT TESTING : ‘VEGA5’ 5-SPEED GEARBOXES & ‘CP ONE35’ CYLINDER KITS! We’re back in the ‘hood after our recent Jolly Boys Outing to the Scooterist Meltdown event on the German-Dutch border. We went there on 4 x Lambretta Lui’s (Vega) all of which were fitted with pre-production ‘CP One35’ cylinder kits that we wanted to do a final test on. So how did we go? All 4 scooters were fitted with all the new CP parts and here is a summary of our findings after stripping them down today to check for wear and tear.
‘CP ONE35’ CYLINDER KITS (Product Code: X807) : The actual 135cc barrel kits proved amazing - they are absolutely bomb-proof. The scooters were held at a constant 55-60mph for the whole journey (weather, ice, snow, blizzards, hurricanes, Alpine passes etc. etc. permitting…) and all the kits never once so much as blinked. These are a real game-changer for any J-Range or Lui-Vega-Cometa 50/75/100/125cc scooter. Power output out-of-the-box is 10-12bhp depending on exhaust used and performance is on par with a very good Lambretta GP200. Expected release date Summer 2019.
HEAVY DUTY RACE CRANKSHAFTS (Product Codes: X809 for 3-speed casings and X810 for 4-speed casings): We were also testing our prototype heavy-duty cranks for vibration levels, with each one having slightly different balance factors. The one we reckoned was perfect proved itself thus and that’s the one that goes into production. Vibration has always been a HUGE problem when tuning Lune line Lambrettas that have above-standard engine capacities so this was a REALLY important test for us to carry out. To give you an idea, a standard GP200 vibrates more than the Vega 135cc with this crank fitted. Expected release date Summer 2019.
‘VEGA5’ 5-SPEED GEARBOXES (Product Code X808): These have superb ratios and are now undergoing some further modifications before be carry out more testing. As they only arrived just before we set off, we want to be 200% sure everything is perfect. Expected release date April-May 2019.
MAGNETO CNC FLANGE KIT (Product Code X808): These bearing holders are a plug ‘n’ play direct replacement for the std. type flanges, which are extremely prone to breaking. Using only one Viton oilseal, means that your engine spins much more freely and the quality is second to none. Whatever model of smallframe Lambretta you have, it should have one of these flanges fitted. Available NOW!
DRIVESIDE OILSEAL PLATES (Product Code X801): these are a must have for all J-Range and Luna line machines and they during the trip proved faultless. The plates have an extra Viton ‘O’ ring and this ensures super-tight sealing. Supplied complete with Viton oilseal with a choice for either 3 or 4-speed casings. Available NOW!
REAR SUSPENSION BUSHES FOR BGM SHOCKERS & FRONT DAMPER KIT (Product Code X804 + X66x) : What a superb little upgrade these shock absorber bushes are! They enabled us to fit BGM shockers to the scooters and these were perfect. Dean’s scooter also had the new uprated BGM front shockers fitted and again, these are amazing. Fitting front shockers to Luna line machines is a must-have option as the standard Innocenti components are simply too Toys-R-Us and not up to the job in hand. However, the handling of the scooters with these front & rear suspension upgrades applied is nothing short of incredible. Standard or tuned, these are must have parts.
CP DUCATI 12V IGNITONS: What a revelation! Of the 4 scooters, two had Ducati systems and the starting, idling and lighting power was head and shoulders over the other two machines fitted with Lunatronic (IDM) ignitions (one of which suffered continuous problems throughout the trip). The Ducati name is synonymous with quality, Italian engineering and has an age-old association with the Lambretta brand. These proved to be an absolute revelation with incredible lights - even on tick-over - and starting was simplistic to say the least. The kits will be plug ‘n’ play for all J-Range and Luna Line models with everything included in the kit. Expected release date April-May 2019.
TOP CHAIN GUIDE TENSIONERS (Product Code X805) : These Casa Performance top chain tensioner guides fit any Lambretta J or Luna Line model. Based on the experience we have gained from our best-selling X44 OTT chain guides that are simply unrivalled in the Lambretta world. The actual chain runner block is made from an ultra-hard, special glass impregnated plastic material and the metal plates are all laser cut in 4mm stainless steel. Internally the plastic runner has 4 metallic bushes to ensure that the fixing screws do not come loose over time, which can happen through overzealous tightening if these bushes were omitted from the design. We tested these guides both before and during the trip to the absolute extreme and they have withstood everything we have thrown at them.
We also tested a lot of other products during the trip such as the forks that have LI-type lower section, 4-stud hubs, electronic ignition hardware mounting brackets and several types of exhausts! Be sure to keep following us here on the website, on Facebook and on Instagram for all the latest updates!

Despite this being a National Holiday in Italy, we’ll be open for the early birds to snap up a bargain and we’ll be holding Q&A sessions over the course of the day! Want to know about our resto’s? Or how we set up an engine? Fire away and we’ll let you in on some shop secrets. In the evening we’ll be heading off to a local pizzeria for munchies and a few beers.
Friday 26th & Saturday 27th April 2019
Now the fun officially starts! The shop will be open for purchases and we’ll have loads of on-the-day massively discounted parts for you to choose from and we’ll even ship them back for you, so no need to drag them back on your plane! The workshops will once again be open-shop and you’ll get to see what we’re up to both on the restoration front and all the latest happenings from Casa Performance will be on display.
We have had several people ask us if it really is THAT easy to build a CasaCase motor - so what better way to prove it than do so in front of you all? The workshop will be ‘open-house’ with completely free access for one and all. On Friday we’ll build up a complete motor - start to finish - that’ll be fitted with the exclusive all-new ‘CP Two50’ kit over the course of the day and we’ll fire it up on the dyno once built. Again, right in front of everyone. So, what’s a ‘CP Two50’ kit??? Better get down to see us to see for yourselves and you won’t be disappointed. Early birds can also pre-book a ride on one of the shops 4 Vega’s, fitted with a ‘CP One35’ kit. Discover what it’s like to try 12hp+ in a Lambretta smallframe. On Friday, in the evening we’ll be heading off to a local restaurant where there will be a special menu for those attending the event.
Over the course of the weekend, we’ll have our superb on-site catering (ask those who came to our previous ‘Open Day’ what that was like!) courtesy of ‘Forno Urbinati’ who’ll keep you both fed and watered throughout the weekend. We’ll have DJ’s spinning the tunes and there will be scooters galore. We’ll have some really cool scooters on display and a few surprises as well.
Saturday evening will be a ticket-only affair with both a really classy buffet type meal and a full on do being held very near to the shops location. You can pre-book your Saturday night tickets by emailing us at : email@example.com Tickets are Euro 25 for both the evening meal & the do, but please note there are only a limited number, so don’t leave it to the last minute!
Sunday 28th April 2019
Last time we held the our Open Day, local lads the ‘Teste Cromate S.C.’ organised the Sunday scooter ride-out and it was really appreciated by all those who participated. This will be held along the same lines, taking in the Romagnolo countryside but with a different final location, being the ‘Farneto Restaurant’ where we’ll have a special lunch laid on to finish the weekend off in style.
