TV 200 Factory Resto Mad Col

This was the first scooter we built for Mad Col and was one of his merry collection of privately owned TV200's. This particular one originally came from sunny Belgium and was not very healthy to say the least. The front end had major damage from a previous head on prang and the engine was none too wise either. The scooter was stripped, blasted, jigged and then straightened up perfectly. Col wanted as many NOS Innocenti parts as was humanly possible and despite some fore-warning from us, he insisted on the scooter having the daft No. 1 cast TV200 barrel, centre squish head, TV200 crankshaft and overly long TV200 gearing. If you insist my son..... The scooter had to be right all the way down to the forged bolt head numbers, NOS rubbers & gaskets throughout - with only two concessions being made as we were asked to add NOS 'Super' S3 'Star Series' fork covers and the 'Ken Cobbing' 38mm reverse coned exhaust system. The resto' was another deadline jobby (aren't they all?) and this one was to be completed - all being well - in time for the Italian Isle of Elba rally at all costs. We bust our collective guts and the bike was finished in time. The scooter picked up 'Best Restored Lambretta' and Col got some more much loved silverware to show off once back home. So pleased was he that drinks all round were the order of the day - so much so that a few hours after he managed to crash (and then later drop) the scooter causing it considerable damage. Oh dear. Once back at the shop, a week later saw it back in it's previous trophy winning form and the pics above show what eventually headed back top the UK. A couple of weeks later, off he went in the pissing rain all the way up to the 'EuroLambretta Jamboree' in Sweden on the very same scooter. Over 800 very wet miles, there and back, on a freshly restored scooter and not a single problem. Since then, the scooter has also won 'Best Restored Series 3 Lambretta' at the Spanish 'EuroLambretta Jamboree'. What can't speak, can't lie...
