Paolo's sidecar
Pics still to be done
Scooter Model ; Lambretta SX200

Name ; ‘CCGS Mobile’

Owner ; Paolo

Location ; The shop

Scooter Details ; This was another of Paolo’s ‘somewhere lost in the middle of the mountains, near nowheresville’ finds. The bike was a right spunker that had been left to the elements for longer than is healthy. Undeterred, Catters stripped the bike with the intention of a straight resto’ and got on with the job. During the reso’, he had a spin on Dean’s SX combo and coupled with the fact that his little terror Ricky insisting that dad should have a sidecar, the decision was made to add the chair. The scooter is essentially a straight resto’ with the extra strenghtening strut on the engine bolt member, TV1 fork links, and a Taffy shocker on the back to even out the ride.

Engine ; Standard SX200 barrel (still on it’s 66.0mm bore!!!), LI150 gearing, uprated clutch, original AF electronic igntion with a factory lightened NOS Innocenti flywheel, 42mm Clubman box, 22mm Dell’Orto carb, ‘RLC’ solid Ser.3 engine mounts.
Sidecar Details ; The side was sold to Paolo at cost and originally came from Rat at ‘Classically Italian Scooters’ in Brum. Its an early Watsonian and was a bit hammered to say the least. The fibreglass was sorted and the insides re-lined. An ‘RLC’ Lambretta hub conversion has now been fitted along with a completely overhauled suspension unit. A set of our ‘RLC’ stainless steel crashbars have been fitted and a rear rack is currently being made as you read this.

Overall Cost ; GBP £ 5000 approx.
