| Scooter Model ; Lambretta
Series 1 LI 150 ‘framebreather’
Name ; The Sandwich Mobile Owner ; Dean / the shop Location ; Rimini Scooter Details ; I bought this scooter via Ebay and had it shipped down here. After using it as it was for a while, I got fed up with being overtaken by push bikes so it was ‘souped up’ some. Despite the fact that the scooter itself is outwardly a bit shabby, everything works fine so other than a few teflon lined cables, the addition of a flatbase TV200 seat and a set of new tyres, it has been left more or less as it was. Engine ; the original lump was powered by 2 fat gerbils who have since been pensioned off. We had a ‘spare’ ( is there such a thing? ) TV225 engine kicking around so that was fitted to liven up the ride. The spec. is 225 asso piston, four plate clutch with Taffy springs, SX200 gearing with 46 x 16T sprockets, 6V electrics and a 22m Dell’Orto carb breathing thro’ a mushroom filter. It goes like the clappers which makes for a right hairy ride ( 120kph )when the sidecar is empty. Sidecar Details ; The sidecar is a ‘Watsonian Commercial’ outfit and going by the dark blue hiding in places, I’d guess it was owned by the British ‘RAC’ breakdown service. When we get around to discovering how to get 35 hours into each day, it’ll be restored in light grey and blue with ‘Rimini Lambretta Service’ colours & signwriting. Overall Cost ; GBP £ 2500 initial cost + what we had laying around the shop. |
