About Us
The shop is run by Paolo Catani and Dean Orton who between them have over 40 years of experience with Lambretta scooters.
For many years Paolo has been the man behind ‘Racing Lambrettas.com’ which is probably one of the most informative web site in scootering circles. His vast knowledge covers the early open frame models right up to the last Italian production machines. His speciality in his wealth of knowledge regarding the 60’s and 70’s British scooter dealer ‘specials’, which also make up the lions share of information and items featured on his website. Paolo has a personal collection of fully restored scooters which cover most of the more sought after models made by Innocenti. These are ; Model 'A', Model ‘D’ racer, 2  x  GP200 Electronics ( one standard and the other being a ‘Supertune’ replica ), 2 x SX200’s ( one with a ‘Watsonian’ sidecar outfit and the other standard ) , TV175 Series 1, TV175 Series 3,  TV 200, Vespa P200E, an ( LI 125 ) TV200 ‘AF S type’ replica. In fact this last scooter was also first scooter back in 1982 and is an LI 125 Series 3 - which has been transformed into a TV200 ‘replica’ with a GP200 engine. Unlike some collectors, he openly admits that it’s not an original TV200 and states quite simply that it’s his “LI bitza”!  ‘Scootering Magazine’ have also featured some of his scooters.
Paolo has been riding Lambrettas non stop since the early 80’s when as a young Mod, he attended the first Italian National Mod rallies of the time. He has attended nearly every ‘European Lambretta Jamboree’, numerous Mod and scooter rallies – both nationally and abroad – and Lambretta Club rallies all over Europe. His scooters are not just rally toys or museum pieces though, as he commutes daily on his various scooters to and fro’ for work ( a round trip of 60 miles no less).
Dean has also been riding Lambrettas from an early age, acquiring his first scooter at the age of 14 (a completely knackered Starstream ). He has owned most LI Series Lambretta models ( and the odd Vespa ) although the only pre – 1957 scooter was an ‘A’ model, purely out of curiosity. He has had several scooters featured in ‘Scootering Magazine’ and still regularly writes articles for the same. Dean attended a lot of Mod rallies in the UK and abroad from ’84 up until his move to Italy in July ’92. He has also ridden up as far as Ukraine during the ‘Rimini Lambretta Jolly Boys outings’.  His current scooters are ; TV200 in Mod style, SX200 & Watsonian sidecar outfit, Lui 50C, Indian Lamby Polo, LI 150 Series 1 & ‘Watsonian’ commercial sidecar outfit. As with Paolo, Dean uses his scooters daily for both work, pleasure and scooter rally use.
The idea to open a specialist Lambretta shop came about in ‘94 / ‘95 due to the fact that at the time in Italy there were next to no dealers interested in post – ’57 Lambrettas. After a couple of hiccups, the first shop was opened just north of Rimini in ’95 (originally called ‘Adriatica Lambretta’) along with Max ( who now runs ‘Scooter Time’) and the shop quickly got itself a reputation for top level restorations, aided by several scooters that were featured at the time in ‘Scootering Magazine’. A partnership shuffle and name change to ‘Rimini Lambretta Centre’ later and the shop relocated to it’s present location situated in the hills overlooking Rimini.
The rest of the team is made of Marco “de Roma” who makes sure all runs sweetly on the workshop side of things, perfectionist Mike the Bike - who is the speed freak amongst us and Top Thomas (the only person who still regularly manages to buy up original disc brakes at an average of 5 Euro’s each !) who also lends a hand when the going gets tough.
The RLC teams approach to working on Lambrettas is simple ; we basically work to 101% of our abilities and complete every task – however big or small – as if we were working on our own personal scooters.
And Also

One of our other part time helper is Mark Broadhurst. Mark, pistured here with his MB Stage 6 tuned broom,  is responsible for sweeping up and 5 'o clock tea making duties.

When the going gets REALLY tough, our other in house 'Goffer' is Sticky - seen here perfecting a mean choice of his favourite grub - Pot Noodles. His choice jobs are polishing Mod mirrors and fixing flyscreens to J50's.
To ensure our customer services are up to par, here's are in house quality control man, Andy 'Upper Crust' Gillard, checking that all our copies of Scootering magazine, are speeelling..er, spoooling, er, no, spelling mistake free.
Stuart Lanning is seen here checking his latest Mod creation is all spotlessly clean. Stuart spent many years running Scootering Modzine but knocked it all on the head to become RLC's main Mod Mirror Polisher. And what a shiny job he does.
