The shop is run by Paolo Catani and Dean Orton who between them have decades of experience with Lambretta scooters.
For many years Paolo has been the man behind 'Racing Lambrettas.com' which is probably one of the most informative web site in scootering circles. His vast knowledge covers the early open frame models right up to the last Italian production machines. His speciality in his wealth of knowledge regarding the 60's and 70's British scooter dealer 'specials'. Paolo has a personal collection of several fully restored scooters and has been riding Lambrettas non stop since the early 80's.
He has attended numerous Mod and scooter rallies - both nationally and abroad - and Lambretta Club rallies all over Europe.
Dean has also been riding Lambrettas from an early age, acquiring his first scooter at the age of 14, following on in his Fathers footsteps, who was also an avid Lambretta builder during the 1970’s. He has had several scooters featured in 'Scootering Magazine' and still regularly writes articles for the same. Dean attended a lot of Mod rallies in the UK and abroad from '84 up until his move to Italy in July '92. As with everyone else involved with ‘RLC’, Dean uses his scooters daily for both work, pleasure and scooter rally use.
The rest of the team is made of Marco "de Roma" Pennesi who makes sure all runs sweetly on the workshop side of things. Marco is 101% Mod through and through and this Mod attention to detail means that you can rest easy when he’s working on your scooter, ensuring that the job will always be above and beyond expectations.Marco’s right hand man is our latest addition to the team, young Micky Carlini who has now fully immersed himself totally into the world of Lambrettas, hook line and sinker. His enthusiasm is unbelievable and coupled with his OCD way of working, means he is now an invaluable asset to ‘RLC’. When the going gets really tough, we also have long time ‘RLC’ stalwarts Top Thomas and Mikey the Bikey to call upon. The idea to open a specialist Lambretta shop came about in '94 due to the fact that at the time in Italy there were absolutely no dealers interested in post - '57 Lambrettas. The first shop was opened just North of Rimini in '95 (originally called 'Adriatica Lambretta') and quickly got itself a reputation for top level restorations. A partnership shuffle and name change to 'Rimini Lambretta Centre' later and the shop relocated to it's present location situated in the hills overlooking Rimini.
